TEXAS Instruments (TI) sponsored Analog System Lab:

This lab, set up in collaboration with Texas Instruemtns (TI), will provide an in depth understanding of Analog Elections and its applications for the students of EEE and ECE. Training programmes to understand Analog electronics are being organised for both the students of Kathir College as well as for other colleges.

National Instruments (NI) sponsored LabVIEW Academy:

National Instruments (NI) LabVIEW Academy has been set up in the campus with an investment of Rs 25 Lakhs. It houses the latest hardware and software necessary for training the students in the area of Automation. The students trained in this Centre can take up the CLAD exams and will give the chance of getting placed in MNCs and Blue chip companies.


KCARDS Lab is a state of art laboratory where in the students are exposed to carry out projects starting from the basic level and complete a product based project at the end of their course.

ICICI E-Learning Centre

This centre is set up in collaboration with ICICI bank. The expertise available with the ICICI is used to teach the use and applications of software for the students of MBA programme.

IIT Bombay Distance Learning Centre

The college has set up distance learning centre in tie-up with the IIT Bombay. This centre will be used as Remote centre for conducting workshops/Seminars for faculty of Engineering colleges. The centre is available for the public for any web conferencing activities.

Kathir Resource Centre

Kathir resource centre houses more than 20,000 books and has subscription for more than 100 National and International Journals. There is also handful of periodicals available in the centre. Subscriptions for more than 15 quality on-line journals are the strengths of the Kathir Resource Centre.

A library is the heart of an academic institution. Our institution encourages all students and staff members to make the best use of the library that has been carefully built up since the inception of the college. The library is housed in a spacious area of 625 sq.m., fully computerized and air-conditioned with Reference Section, Magazine Section and Stack Area. Presently there are 17,000 books and reference volumes and numerous magazines in all relevant streams of engineering and management, stacked for the benefit of staff and students. There is an established media resource centre.

Our library follows the open access system and is encouraging students to browse in the stack area. The library subscribes more than 180 specialized journals, over one third of them being international. Accessibility for browsing through the e-journals is an added advantage. We are also a member of US Information Service (USIS), British Council Library, CSIR, Delnet, Malibnet, IIT, CII, Madras Productivity Council and Anna University.

IT Centre

An on-campus cyber cafe exclusively for students for browsing, printouts, project work and other academic related works. All system monitors are bound to 19″ wide LCD with advance configurations, worthy to be utilized for educational and research purposes.

All systems are connected with LAN facility, with a non-stop high speed lease line internet facility through which one can always get connected to the world.

The whole campus has been connected with Wi-Fi network and hence the complete vicinity of the campus is always at your hand’s length, joined to lively intranet connectivity. The Servers are products of IBM and hence efficient to the core.


Separate hostels for boys and girls is provided on campus with excellent security measures, 24 hours power supply, fully furnished comfortable rooms for the students, separate gym, fresh, healthy and nutritious food provided by our own mess.

The campus has strong Wi-Fi connectivity.


Visualisations of a modern concept of cafeteria, which caters to the students taste with a snack bar attached which provides a variety of healthy Breakfast, mini-lunch, snacks and juices is maintained at subsidized rate.

Co-Operative Stores (KIOSK)

A stationary store which is a one stop for all student needs from notebooks to slip files, from marker to micro tips. It also provides all requirements of the hostel students from bedding to toiletries and other essentials.


Gym facilities for both boys and girls with many state-of-the-art equipments under the supervision of the Director of Physical Education is setup in the most modern style to be utilised by the students alone.

The gym was added for the sole reason that a healthy mind needs a healthy body and KCE recognizes it. The students may avail the facilities between 6 am to 8 am and 5 pm to 7 pm on all working days.


Every form of sports are encouraged , the necessary practice and training are imparted for promising students who are interested in sports by our own department of physical education.

Practicing areas and grounds for the respective sports have been formed and has been maintained impeccably. Additionally, various forms of indoor games and the necessary space has been allocated and maintained.
